Modification of the Community Development Block Grant Definition for Metropolitan City and Other Conforming Amendments

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has finalized the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program regulations, replacing the term 'central city' with 'principal city' in the definition of 'metropolitan city' and other CDBG regulations, to align with the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) new standards for defining metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, as announced in 2003 using Census 2000 data.
