NRC Denies Petition for Rulemaking by ICN Worldwide Dosimetry

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has denied a petition submitted by Sander C. Perle, ICN Worldwide Dosimetry (now Global Dosimetry Solutions, Inc.), to amend regulations requiring dosimeter processing and evaluation by a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accredited processor. The NRC rejected a request to revise the definition of individual monitoring devices and add electronic dosimeters and optically stimulated dosimeters as examples.
