NRC Terminates Saxton Nuclear Experimental Corporation Facility License

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued a notice of termination for the Saxton Nuclear Experimental Corporation (SNEC) facility in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, due to the expiration of its amended facility license. The SNEC facility, which operated from 1962 to 1972, was primarily used for research and training in nuclear power reactor technology.
