NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2005 Mini Cooper Convertibles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from Mini Cooper owners seeking to import 2005 Mini Cooper convertible passenger cars manufactured for the European market into the US, as they are substantially similar to US-certified vehicles and can be easily modified to meet safety standards.
