FCC Amends TCPA Rules to Establish Safe Harbor Period for Wireless Numbers Recently Ported

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has updated its rules implementing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) to provide a limited safe harbor period for autodialed or prerecorded message calls to wireless numbers that have been recently ported from wireline to wireless service, and to require telemarketers to access the national do-not-call registry no more than 31 days prior to making a telemarketing call.
