EPA Proposes Exclusion of Hazardous Waste from Hanford Facility

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to exempt certain mixed waste treated at the 200 Area Effluent Treatment Site on the Hanford Facility in Richland, Washington, from hazardous waste regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976, following a petition submitted by the US Department of Energy's Richland Operations Office (DOE-RL).
