EPA Issues Final NPDES General Permit for Oil and Gas Extraction in Gulf of Mexico

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 has issued a final National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permit for oil and gas extraction activities in the Western Portion of the Outer Continental Shelf of the Gulf of Mexico. The permit, which authorizes discharges from new and existing sources, will become effective on November 8, 2004.
