DEA Proposes Adding AMT and 5-MeO-DIPT to Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act

The Acting Deputy Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is proposing to add alpha-methyltryptamine (AMT) and 5-methoxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine (5-MeO-DIPT) to Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), based on data gathered by the DEA. This move would impose the same criminal sanctions and regulatory controls currently in place for Schedule I substances on the manufacture, distribution, and possession of these substances.
