CMS Proposes Changes to Medicare Managed Care System (MMCS) in Compliance with Privacy Act of 1974

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is proposing modifications to the Medicare Managed Care System (MMCS), System No. 09-70-4001, to broaden its scope and improve data processing efficiency. The proposed changes include redesigning the electronic processing procedure from COBOL to DB2 format and revising routine use numbers to clarify data disclosures to contractors and Medicaid State Agencies.
