HHS Proposes Rule to Clarify Health Coverage Portability Requirements

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed new rules to clarify portability requirements for group health plans and health insurance issuers, building on changes made to the Internal Revenue Code, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and the Public Health Service Act as part of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
