US Issues Letters of Authorization for Polar Bear Hunting in Alaska's Beaufort Sea
The US government has issued permits allowing for the incidental killing of polar bears during oil and gas exploration activities in the Beaufort Sea and northern coast of Alaska, in compliance with the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972.
