Crystal Cave to Implement Visitor Use Permit System and Locking Gate to Protect Bats and Visitors

The Bureau of Land Management will begin controlling public access to Crystal Cave in the Salt Lake Field Office District with a visitor use permit system to protect a maternity colony of Townsend's Big-eared Bats, maintain unique geologic formations, and ensure visitor safety, starting after the installation of a bat-friendly locking gate and implementation of the Crystal Cave Recreation Management Plan.
