Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. Receives Exemption to Maintain Control of Tazewell & Peoria Railroad, Inc.

The Board of Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. (GWI) has granted an exemption to GWI to maintain control of Tazewell & Peoria Railroad, Inc. (TPR), following TPR's transition into a rail carrier through a related transaction involving the lease and operation of a line from the Peoria and Pekin Union Railway Company. This exemption is under Section 10502 of the U.S. Code and allows GWI to continue its control over TPR without prior approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
