FAA Proposes Update to Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 747 Airplanes

The FAA proposes to update an existing airworthiness directive for Boeing 747-100, -100B, -100B SUD, -200B, and -300 series airplanes, as well as 747SR and 747SP series airplanes, to reduce the risk of fatigue cracking in upper deck floor beams, which could lead to decompression and loss of control. The proposed update would lower the inspection threshold and require additional inspections of previously repaired areas.
