Requested Administrative Waiver of the Coastwise Trade Laws

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has received a request for an administrative waiver of the U.S.-build requirement of the coastwise laws, and is seeking public comment on the potential impact on U.S. vessel builders and businesses using U.S.-flag vessels. The waiver application is available at http://dms.dot.gov/dot/docket/2004-19921, and comments must be submitted by referencing the docket number and vessel name.
