Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Suction Dredging in Clearwater National Forest

The US Forest Service will assess the environmental effects of proposed suction dredge mining activities in Clearwater National Forest, which could authorize permits for 29 recreational mining operations and potentially harm steelhead trout and bull trout populations.
