USDA Forest Service to Reassess Big Bend Vegetation Management Project in Idaho
The US Department of Agriculture's Forest Service is revising its plan for the Big Bend Vegetation Management Project in Idaho, a timber sale and vegetation treatment, and is now expected to release an Environmental Impact Statement in April 2003, with a final completion date in July 2003. The project, originally proposed to include 1800 acres of prescribed burning, has been scaled back to 123 acres, focusing on promoting aspen and shrubs in a high-use big game wintering area.
