U.S. Department of Energy Extends Nuclear Nonproliferation Policy for Foreign Research Reactor Spent Nuclear Fuel

The U.S. Department of Energy has revised its policy for accepting spent nuclear fuel from foreign research reactors, extending the program for 10 years to allow for more countries to participate and to accept fuel from reactors in Australia that are scheduled to be commissioned after 2005.
