Implementation of the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act
The U.S. government has implemented interim amendments to the Customs Regulations to provide trade benefits to Andean countries under the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (ATPDEA), which was enacted in 2002. The ATPDEA allows for duty-free entry of specific apparel and textile articles, as well as certain tuna imports, from Andean countries designated by the President.
