NMFS Proposes Exempted Fishing Permit for Two Vessels in Northeastern United States

The Assistant Regional Administrator for Sustainable Fisheries, Northeast Region, has made a preliminary determination that an EFP application warrants further consideration, proposing to issue an EFP that would allow two vessels to conduct fishing operations restricted by Northeast regulations, including exemptions from mesh size and gear requirements, closed area restrictions, and minimum fish size requirements.
