Wireless Telecomunications Bureau Expands Maritime Mobile Service Information Collection to Enhance Maritime Safety

The U.S. Wireless Communications Bureau will collect additional maritime mobile service information data, recommended by the International Maritime Organization and requested by the GMDSS Task Force, to support U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue operations and improve homeland security, aiming to reduce false alerts and expedite rescue efforts.
