FDA Proposes to Remove Essential-Use Designation for Albuterol MDIs Containing Ozone-Depleting Substances

The FDA is proposing to remove the essential-use designation for albuterol used in oral pressurized metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) containing ozone-depleting substances (ODSs), allowing non-ODS MDIs to replace them. The proposed change aims to reduce the use of ODSs in these products.
