FDA Publishes Guidance for Implantable Radiofrequency Transponder System

The FDA has released a guidance document outlining how implantable radiofrequency transponder systems for patient identification and health information can meet special controls for Class II devices, following a recent classification into Class II by a final rule published in the Federal Register.
