Coast Guard Finalizes Rule on Child Life Jacket Requirements
The U.S. Coast Guard has finalized a rule requiring certain children under the age of 13 to wear personal flotation devices (PFDs) while on recreational vessels, with the goal of reducing child drownings. The rule, which was previously adopted in 2002, has been updated to clarify enforcement of existing state standards.
