Coconino and Tonto National Forests Develop EIS for Fossil Creek Area Planning

The Coconino and Tonto National Forests in Arizona are conducting an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the effects of proposed changes in the Fossil Creek area, which will lead to the development of new management areas and guidelines within both forests' management plans. The planning area spans across Coconino, Gila, and Yavapai Counties in central Arizona, encompassing several protected areas, including the Fossil Springs Wilderness and Mazatzal Wilderness.
