US Mandates Country of Origin Labeling for Certain Food Products

The US Department of Agriculture will implement a mandatory country of origin labeling program for covered commodities, including beef, lamb, pork, fish, and peanuts, starting September 30, 2004, as mandated by the Farm Bill and Appropriations Act of 2002.
