Amendment to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations: Section 126.1(i)

The US Department of State has amended the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to expand the denial policy regarding the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1596, adopted on April 18, 2005. This move builds upon the policy established under UNSCR 1493, which imposed an embargo on arms sales to the provinces of North and South Kivu and the Ituri District in the DRC, effective July 28, 2003.
