MSHA to Review IEC Standards for Intrinsic Safety and Explosion-Proof Enclosures

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is reviewing the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) standards for Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Gas Atmospheres, with the goal of determining if they meet MSHA's product approval requirements or can be modified to provide equivalent protection.
