NMFS Announces Exempted Fishing Permits and Scientific Research Permits for Atlantic Highly Migratory Species

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) plans to issue Exempted Fishing Permits (EFPs) and Scientific Research Permits (SRPs) for collecting Atlantic highly migratory species, such as tuna, swordfish, and sharks, in U.S. waters through December 31, 2004, and may consider EFPs for fishermen operating under foreign charter agreements.
