U.S. Department of Energy to Build Preferred Nevada Rail Corridor for Nuclear Waste Transportation

The U.S. Department of Energy has identified rail transportation as its preferred mode of transportation for the shipment of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste to Yucca Mountain in Nevada, following a review of various transportation options as outlined in the Final Environmental Impact Statement.
