Deferral of Effective Date of Nonattainment Designations for 8- Hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Early Action Compact Areas

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a deferral of the effective date for nonattainment designations for 8-hour ozone national ambient air quality standards in early action compact areas. This deferral will allow states to continue working towards meeting the ozone standards without the immediate threat of federal penalties.
