Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program Expanded Under New Legislation

The Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 has been amended to include the Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program, allowing the Commodity Credit Corporation to request proposals from various entities to acquire conservation easements on prime agricultural lands, with over $78 million in funding available for fiscal year 2005.
