Nuclear Regulatory Commission Amends Regulations to Include Standardized Advanced NUHOMS System

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is updating its regulations to include the Standardized Advanced NUHOMS System, a modified version of the Standardized NUHOMS System, in the list of approved spent fuel storage casks. This change enables power plant operators to store spent fuel in the new cask system under a general license.
