NRC Staff Draft Assessment of Proposed Agreement Between Nuclear Regulatory Commission and State of Wisconsin

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking public comment on a proposed agreement with the State of Wisconsin, which would transfer regulatory authority over certain radioactive materials from the NRC to the state. The proposed agreement, which was requested by former Governor Scott McCallum in 2002, has been deemed adequate by the NRC staff to protect public health and safety.
