NRC Denies Petition to Remove Alternative Energy Analysis Requirements

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has denied a petition by the Nuclear Energy Institute to remove requirements for analyzing alternative energy sources and power needs for nuclear power plants, citing its responsibility to consider these factors under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
