NHTSA Terminates Rulemaking on Door Locks and Door Retention Components Petition

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has decided to end the rulemaking process on a petition from Independent Mobility Systems (IMS) to modify the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 206, which would have exempted retention components on doors designed for wheelchair ramps.
