FDA Issues Final Monograph for OTC Antidiarrheal Drug Products

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a final rule establishing conditions for over-the-counter (OTC) antidiarrheal drug products to be recognized as safe and effective. This rule follows public comments and new data on OTC antidiarrheal products, and also updates the list of nonmonograph active ingredients.
