FDA Classifies Dental Sonography Device and Jaw Tracking Device for Diagnosis of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders

The FDA has classified the dental sonography device and jaw tracking device into Class I and Class II, respectively, for use in diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorders and associated orofacial pain. The agency has also made a guidance document available to serve as the special control for these devices.
