Federal Trade Commission Issues Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Contact Lens Rule

The Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comment on a proposed rule to implement the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act, which aims to provide patients with access to contact lens prescriptions and verify them with prescribers. The Commission also proposes amendments to its Ophthalmic Practice Rules to clarify the distinction between these rules and the proposed Contact Lens Rule.
