EPA Proposes Amendments to Bulk Gasoline Terminal and Pipeline Emission Standards

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing amendments to the Standards of Performance for Bulk Gasoline Terminals and National Emission Standards for Gasoline Distribution Facilities to provide alternative leak test procedures for railcars, clarify monitoring of flares and thermal oxidation systems, and update recordkeeping requirements for tank trucks and railcars. The proposed changes aim to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds and hazardous air pollutants, which can cause respiratory problems and harm ecosystems.
