EPA Proposes Revisions to Texas State Implementation Plan for Environmental Speed Limit Reductions
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve revisions to the Texas State Implementation Plan, which would retain a 55 miles per hour speed limit for heavy vehicles until May 1, 2005, or suspend the speed limit for all vehicles until the same date and implement a temporary reduction in the environmental speed limit. The proposal affects eight counties in the Houston/Galveston nonattainment area.
