EPA Proposes Approval of Massachusetts Air Quality Implementation Plan Revision
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve a revision to Massachusetts's State Implementation Plan (SIP) that replaces the standard for Total Suspended Particulates (TSP) with a standard for particulate matter with a mean aerodynamic diameter of 10 microns or less (PM10), the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for particulates, and redesignates several areas of Massachusetts from nonattainment to 'cannot be classified' for TSP.
