U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Bans Importation of Snakehead Fishes
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has added all species of snakehead fishes in the Channidae family to the list of injurious fish, mollusks, and crustaceans, prohibiting their importation into the continental United States and certain territories. This action aims to protect wildlife and ecosystems from the introduction and establishment of snakehead populations.
