Rural Utilities Service Proposes Changes to Payment Extensions for Consumer Loans and Distributed Generation Projects
The Rural Utilities Service is proposing to limit the interest rate that borrowers can charge on deferments for consumer loans to 300 basis points above the average interest rate on the note(s) being deferred, aiming to offset administrative costs. The proposed rule also clarifies procedures for requesting extensions of payments for distributed generation projects.
