NMFS Adjusts Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Subquota for October-December Period

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has revised the General category Atlantic bluefin tuna (BFT) subquota for the October-December period by transferring 60 metric tons from the Longline South and Longline North subquotas, and 60 metric tons from the Angling category large school/small medium size class subquota for the northern area, resulting in a revised coastwide General category October-December subquota of approximately 301.4 metric tons. This adjustment aims to maximize utilization of the U.S. landings quota while maintaining a fair distribution of fishing opportunities.
