Coast Guard Amends Third-Mate License Requirements for Great Lakes Maritime Academy Graduates

The US Coast Guard is updating the requirements for obtaining an unrestricted third-mate license on ocean and near-coastal vessels. Graduates of the Great Lakes Maritime Academy's ocean option will be eligible for licensing on both types of vessels, while those who don't complete the ocean option will only be eligible for near-coastal vessels.
