CMS Proposes Modification to Utilization Review Investigatory Files System

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is proposing to modify the CMS Utilization Review Investigatory Files system to broaden its scope to include fraud and abuse in all healthcare programs administered by CMS, and to delete certain routine uses related to criminal prosecution, administrative action, and other purposes. The proposed name change aims to accurately reflect the system's increased scope.
