EPA Approves VOC Rule for Kansas City Maintenance Area

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized the approval of a volatile organic compound (VOC) rule for the Kansas portion of the Kansas City maintenance area, as part of the Kansas State Implementation Plan (SIP). This approval ensures federal enforceability of the state's air program rules and maintains consistency between state-adopted rules and the approved SIP, effectively rescinding a prior conditional approval of the revised maintenance plan.
