NMFS Closes Pacific Cod Fishing in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is closing directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using trawl gear in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area due to concerns about exceeding the 2002 Pacific halibut bycatch allowance for the trawl Pacific cod fishery.
