EPA Sets Emission Standards for Nonroad Large Spark-Ignition Engines and Recreational Engines
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is adopting emission standards for nonroad large spark-ignition engines and recreational engines, including forklifts, motorcycles, and snowmobiles, to reduce ozone, carbon-monoxide, and particulate-matter pollution. The new standards are expected to lead to fuel savings of approximately 800 million gallons per year, with manufacturers able to maintain or improve performance while reducing costs.
